[ Sorry about this one. I never finished it. It gets telegraphic near the end ] Duke Racing Spends Labor Day in the Hamptons. Early Friday morning, September 1, Doug Pinkney, loyal Duke Racing Pit Chief, arrived at the Duke Racing HQ and we took off for the scenic Bridgehampton Race Circuit on Long Island. We made good time, only hitting traffic in the last few miles. The Hamptons are an amazing place: where else can you see a Cobra, an XJE, and something Italian in the same used car lot? We stopped for lunch at a diner, and this couple came in to eat. Their chauffeur stayed outside in the Rolls. I kid you not--that actually happened. We found geek.racing (Tedd Speck and his pit crew John) pulled in next to them and unloaded. First practice on Friday was quite a shock; I hadn't been on a motorcycle for over a month, and boy did it feel wierd. Overall it went well; I was below 2'10", maybe 10 seconds faster than my last trip to the Bridge all thanks to the Team Suzuki Endurance school. Someone dumped oil in 5.... Doug bought Hardy's bike. Saturday SS, bad start, good race, 8/13. lifting the rear under braking. Tedd tore up his waterpump, Tony passed people in rookie, and MW SB. bar-b-q. Sunday LW prod, 5 bikes, bad start, good race 4/5, passed LW SB backmarkers, knee down in turn 6. Tony passed people in MW SS Someone died in MW SS. Eric Wood set a new track record.
