Bicycle Stuff

This is my first real bike--it's a Marin East Peak. It's got a Fox fork (that's an old picture, back when it had the Z.2), a Stratos rear shock, 545 pedals, a Chris King Headset, a Bonty seat, a 12-32 cassette, an XT shifters, XT hubs with Bonty Mustang rims, Velociraptor & Geax tires, Bonty Riser bars and stem, a Race Face Crank, XT & Race Face chain rings, XT brakes, and SRAM thermoplastic brake levers. Help me, I'm out of control. This is my second bike: a Voodoo Bizango, a Reynolds 853 Steel Hardtail. Mine has a Marzocchi Z.2 fork, one of those funky hinged Synchros stems with Bonty bars & barends, 747 pedals, Bonty Jones tires, and an LX/XT component mix.

It's really amazing how quickly this bike turns compared to the Marin. On the other hand, it's amazing how much easier it is to ride the Marin over logs, roots, and rocks, whether you're going up or down.

This is my latest acquisition: a Bianchi Axis Cyclocross bike. XT, XTR, and 105 gearing, Avid canti brakes, Geax tires, and a Race Face triple crank and rings.

This guy is quite something. It's more comfortable on the road than my old Bianchi Campione road bike, and if I take it to my favorite mountain biking spots, it's like having a whole new trail to ride. :-)
